Making the Most of Your Dictionary; by Cindy Leaney

Cindy Leaney's article on Making the Most of Your Dictionary is now live in our Resources area, offering advice on how to use dictionaries with learners.

How do you use dictionaries in class? What tips can you share?

Cindy Leaney says in her article: "Developing good monolingual dictionary skills doesn't have to wait until students are at intermediate or advanced levels of their language learning. The benefits for making an earlier start are that the activities themselves help develop reading skills and get students into the habit of using dictionaries sooner." She suggests some ideas in her article, but does anyone else have any tips or activities for using monolingual dictionaries with lower level students?
